The ‘NPD Skills’ Training program comprises six specialized courses tailored for professionals in the food industry from RIS countries. Each course focuses on new product development within the food sector and emphasizes its practical implementation. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

This training is tailored for food professionals seeking to enhance their competencies in specific areas. Ideal applicants should:

  • Be employed in the food industry, academia, or research institutes.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving and a willingness to share knowledge.
  • Possess relevant knowledge and experience in the food sector.
  • Have proficiency in the English language.
  • Be citizens of RIS countries, including:
  1. EU Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain.
  2. Horizon Europe Associated Countries: Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine.
  3. Outermost Regions: Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Réunion, Martinique, Mayotte and Saint-Martin (France), the Azores and Madeira (Portugal), and the Canary Islands (Spain).

COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK

Our courses are based on the competency framework created by EIT Food, whose extensive experience in the food industry and innovation has led to the identification of 8 specific competencies crucial for transforming the food system. Essentially, The EIT Food Competency Framework defines the essential skills and abilities required by innovators and entrepreneurs to effect substantial change in the food system. Each competency includes four levels, ranging from foundational knowledge to the ability to drive significant transformation in the food system.

By integrating these competencies and levels, professionals can advance their careers in the agri-food sector while maintaining the quality of their education. Each course develops one Underpinning Capability and one Technical Capability. Check the courses in the specified editions to find out which competencies you can develop.

EIT Label

Educational quality assurance

The New Product Development Training 'NPD Skills’ Programme has been awarded the EIT Label since 2023. This credential, offers verifiable proof of accreditation for activities endorsed with the EIT Label for non-degree education and training. It is aligned with the EIT-specific learning outcomes and meets other quality criteria necessary for the EIT Label.
